Meditation has been proven to help establish and maintain balance, calmness, relaxation, clarity, and harmony in mind and body in the midst of any circumstance. Meditation carries you into a state of deep relaxation; to a place where your creative thoughts will flow; where answers to problems appear; where your thoughts are focused and concentration is enhanced.

For business, for example, not only can meditation help you battle workplace stress but also it can help you concentrate your mind - on the important task of making profit. Practicing meditation at work on a regular basis, say for 15 to 45 minutes per day, will help you engage mental activities properly, stabilize mind, and sharpen clarity, and deepen wisdom. In other words, regular meditation equals happier, more effective, and ultimately more productive employees, ultimately enhancing quality of work and profit margin.

Meditation is a practice that leads to a state of self-awareness, also known as mindfulness. In other words, meditation is about listening to your inner, silent being or internal voice which reflects your true nature, which cannot be described in expressive or intellectual words.

Walking Meditation is a meditation method you can practice while walking. In other words, you establish and maintain mindfulness while walking. Some people believe walking meditation is not a serious meditation practice. However, it has been practiced among Buddhists since the Buddha himself practiced and taught it to his disciples upon his own enlightenment. Christianity has also used walking meditation in the form of a labyrinth.

TangoZen, which is based on zen principles and basic tango movements, is a system develop to enhance the benefits of Walking Meditation.  In other words, you establish and maintain mindfulness while walking. Unlike sitting meditation, which is static and sedate, walking meditation is meditation in motion. Since Walking Meditation is easier and more natural than the sitting meditation, many people are naturally drawn to practicing walking meditation in order to enjoy the benefits of meditation without physical discomforts.

There are three forms of walking meditation you can practice in TangoZen: Individual Walking Meditation, Pair Walking Meditation, and Group Walking Meditation.

For Individual Walking Meditation, you walk alone, just as you walk on the street. As in the sitting meditation, when you walk, you must keep the spine straight and still, chin tucked in, top of head pointed towards the ceiling, diaphragm pushed down towards lower abdomen as you breath deeply, not within the chest but deep into the lungs, relaxing the whole body at the same time. While walking, you should be mindful of each movement you make, moment by moment, with total concentration. Whatever feelings and thoughts arise while walking, just let them pass with no attachment to anything.

The key idea of Pair Walking Meditation, like Tango dance,  is to walk with your partner in unison. You and your partner can walk together either side by side or embraced with each other. You guide (or lead) and your partner responds (or follows) to your movements or vice versa. Again it is important to remember that you and your partner move in unison. If you and your partner would like to walk in embrace, there are a number of ways to embrace each other.

Group Walking Meditation is a social meditation technique. In other words you walk in sync with others. The benefit of Group Walking Meditation is that each participant has an opportunity to experience mindfulness through the group’s presence, which is stronger than an individual presence. Eventually the whole group establishes common ground over the diversity among the group. This type meditation is suitable for team building events.
