As Paulo Coelho once said, "The visible is what we see, the invisible is what we feel." When thinking about what makes tango what Tango is, this quote speaks to me on a very deep level.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In the tango communities around the world, there's often a lot of focus on the visible aspects of the dance, such as doing shows or participating in competitions. While these are certainly impressive displays of skill and talent, they don't necessarily capture the true heart of tango.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
At its core, tango is about something more intangible, more invisible: the emotions, the connection, the chemistry that is created between two people as they move together in perfect harmony. It's about listening to the music and feeling it in your bones, letting it guide you and your partner on the dance floor.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So if you're new to tango or have been dancing for years, I invite you to embrace the invisible aspects of the dance. Don't just focus on the steps or the technique, but on the emotions and feelings that come with it. That's where the true magic lies.
