☯ We come across situations or words that we understand, feel, or taste but can't put into words. "Dancing with heart" is one of these phrases, in my opinion.
Between 2008 and 2012, I lived in Buenos Aires. As a tango dancer, living in Buenos Aires for four years and dancing almost every night was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
One night at a milonga, a tanguera told me, "We Porteños dance tango with heart." I said, "That sounds great! How can I learn to dance with my heart?" "Now you live here in Buenos Aires," she said with a smile, adding “You have enough time to figure it out on your own."
After about two and a half years, I started to sense what she meant.I started feeling something different when I danced. But it took me about ten more years before I could explain what it meant.
One of my Facebook friends, Lucia Söderling, describes "Dancing with Heart" as a state of calm attentiveness in which one's actions are guided by intuition rather than by conscious effort, like being in zen.
To me "Dancing with heart" means becoming one with everything, including myself, my partner, other dancers on the floor, the music, the place, etc.
I've also found these phrases to describe "dancing with heart”:
1. In the zone
2. In the moment
3. Free flowing
4. Soulful dance
