Dancing through Memories in Milonga Maipú
As I conclude my transformative 3-week adventure in Buenos Aires, I'm heading back to my home in Germany. What began as a vacation soon evolved into dance-filled evenings, work engagements, and an abundance of inspiration for my upcoming tango endeavors.
A heartfelt nod of gratitude goes to Diana Coven, the gracious force behind Milonga Maipú at Lo de Celia on Tuesdays. Her warmth and unwavering support for my tango activities in Buenos Aires, including the Tango Zen class and Tango Meditation Workshop, are deeply appreciated.
Milonga Maipú holds a special place in my heart. The history, the memories from my years in Buenos Aires between 2008 and 2012, and the cherished moments with Dany Rodriguez, whose spirit I felt so vividly upon my return, are deeply treasured. His sudden departure left a void, but in Diana's capable hands, the milonga thrives and his legacy continues.
This venue is a beacon for familiar faces and cherished dancers. I deeply value connections and often dance with those with whom I share a bond. This past Tuesday, I had a joyous reunion with Stella Maris, who had been away due to health concerns. Looking forward to more dances in November, Stella!
I am sending my best wishes and gratitude to Diana for the love she pours into the milonga. And see you guys in November.
