Beyond the Steps: Navigating the World of Tango Teaching

Over the years, my tango journey has allowed me to connect with numerous enthusiasts worldwide. Many reach out, hoping I might recommend tango instructors in their regions.

I must admit, even though I'm familiar with some prominent names in the tango world, it's a challenging endeavor to stay updated with every tango community globally. Furthermore, recommending a teacher isn't straightforward. Each has their own unique teaching style, and without a thorough understanding, it might be an oversight on my part to recommend them blindly.

However, when on the search for a tango teacher, here are some insights I believe could serve as guiding principles:

They genuinely value the essence of music, embrace, and walk. They can properly differentiate between performance and social dance. They emphasize the significance of pauses in dance. They are dedicated to nurturing each student's individuality. They educate on tango etiquettes, Códigos, with a special emphasis on floor manners. They practice what they preach, dancing regularly for pure joy.

These are, of course, reflections of my own experiences and preferences.

I'd be delighted to hear your thoughts on this! Are there other attributes you believe are essential when considering a tango teacher? Your insights could enrich our collective understanding.

Tango your Life too.
